Acrylic on canvas

The usual definition of the term “ watermark” is a demarcation of  the height to which water rises or has risen. It can also be used metaphorically to mark a high point  which cannot be sustained consistently  but to which one constantly strives. In this painting, three men are huddled on the beach as the waves ebb and flow, leaving  tracks on the sand…. and they gaze searching towards the horizon…..reminding me of the Three Wise Men in the New Testament of the Bible who likewise, must have huddled and gazed across the desert sands…..seeking and finding…...such is the Watermark Moment
